Academic Brief

Buckeye Middle School will provide rigorous and relevant curriculum which will allow our students to apply their knowledge through analytical thinking skills and high performance implementation. Students are given the opportunity to earn high school credit as early as 8th grade in Spanish I, PC I and PC II, Art, Choir, and Band.



Academic Support

Buckeye Middle School offers academic support programs for both enrichment and intervention. BSMART is our after school program which focuses on the state standards and alignment of CCS Curriculum. This is a 2 hour after school activity held weekly. We also offer a Saturday Scholars program where we provide small group instruction and one on one support. Buckeye students also participate in a daily reading time, to increase reading skills and interest.



Curriculum

Buckeye Middle School offers the following course offerings for all students:  Reading, English, math, science, social studies, college prep 101 and 102, art, vocal, instrumental music and computers. For 8th-grade we offer algebra, physical science, and Spanish I. This year we are offering the following advanced courses for seventh graders: pre algebra and compacted science. Upon successful completion of the advanced 7th grade courses, students are then given the opportunity in 8th grade, to move on to algebra and physical science.
